SWA Cup and Mind Matrix 2024

Boys Basketball 3x3

  1. Each school may send a maximum of TWO teams per category.
  2. If the category a team has submitted to is full, then the team will be put on the waiting list until further notice. In the case that the registration period ends and the team is still on the waiting list, the team may not be able to participate in the event.
  3. Each team may consist of a minimum of 3 players and a maximum of 4 players, and a coach.
  4. Category
    1. Middle School: Grades 6 - 9
    2. High School: Grades 10 - 12
  5. All athletic participants must be physically and mentally fit.
  6. Each team must be accompanied by a coach and/or teacher supervisor. The supervisor's contact information must be submitted along with the registration forms. The team may not participate unless accompanied by the supervisor.
  7. Referees will have the final decision.
  8. Each team must submit the completed registration fee along with the (a) Registration Forms; (b) Player Profiles and (c) Consent Letter from the School Principal within the set registration period.
  9. We will follow the PERBASI rules and regulations for basketball. Any additional rules will be discussed during the technical meeting.
  10. Re-registration with the organising committee must be done at least 20 minutes before each game commences or the team will be disqualified. Every participant should bring his/her ID.
  11. All participants must wear their proper matching jerseys, complete with their jersey numbers. Failure to not wear the proper jerseys will mean the player is prohibited from playing.
  12. Any violation of the general regulations will result in punitive action.
  13. Registration will close once there are 16 teams per category

Volleyball (Boys and Girls)

  1. Each school may send a maximum of TWO teams, ONE male team and ONE female team.
  2. Each team may consist of a minimum of 8 players and a maximum of 13 players, and a coach.
  3. All participants for Volleyball must be currently in Grades 8-12.
  4. All athletic participants must be physically and mentally fit.
  5. Each team must be accompanied by a coach and/or teacher supervisor. The supervisor's contact information must be submitted along with the registration forms. The team may not participate unless accompanied by the supervisor.

Doubles Badminton (Mixed)

The tournament will follow a single elimination fixture.
  1. Single Elimination Format, one school can send a maximum of 4 mixed pairs (male and female).
  2. Matches will be best of three games to 21 points. The side that first scores 21 points shall win the game as long as they hold a two-point margin. If the score becomes 20-20, the side that scores 2 consecutive points shall win that game. At 29-29 the first to 30 will win the game. Every rally won counts to the score whether serving or not.
  3. The tournament format will be discussed once all entries are finalised.
  4. Referees will have the final decision.
  5. Participants have to bring their own rackets.
  6. A 1 - 2 minute break will be given after every match. Before the first match starts, each team will be given 5 minutes to warm–up. The consecutive matches will have to warm- up prior to their match.
  7. Coaches will be the ones to assist their players in doing the warm-up.
  8. The competition will follow the BWF: Laws of Badminton.
  9. Registration will close once the number of teams reach the maximum number.
  10. All participants for Badminton must be currently in Grades 8-12.

Swimming

    Rules & Regulations:
  1. The competition will be held at Sinarmas World Academy’s 25-metre-long swimming pool with 6 lanes. A small cooling-down pool is available.
  2. Warm-up opens at 07:00 - 07:45 AM. The race starts at 08:00 AM.
  3. The maximum number of participants is 120 (first come first served basis).
  4. Each participant must attach a letter from their school stating that they are a student of that school along with the grade level. The letter must be signed by the principal and school stamp.
  5. Rules are modified and designed by SWA based on FINA.
  6. Starting will be commanded using Standard English announcement “Take your mark.”
  7. All swimmers must be registered under a school name only - not a swimming club.
  8. Swimmers who have won 1st, 2nd, 3rd place in O2SN (tingkat Kabupaten & Kota) and are listed on: PELATNAS, PELATDA, and/or PPLP of each respective province are not eligible to participate in the event. Violation will result in automatic disqualification for all events.
  9. Any dispute and/or protest should be addressed formally to the swim meet director with the fee of Rp 1.000,000 and within 30 minutes of the event.
  10. All events will be conducted by timed final. The winner will be awarded with a medal. Only the team manager or coach is allowed to pick up the medals at the medal counter.

Mystery Trails

Mystery Trails is a game of speed and wits. Participants are to solve puzzles and riddles within a set time.. This requires teamwork, logical thinking, and quick problem-solving skills.

Registration Fee
Rp 200,000 / Team of 3 or individual

Participants
Mystery Trails is open to all students from different grades. Participants can register as an individual or as a group of 2 - 3.

Teams of 2 or 3 may be composed of different ages; adults must have one student in the team.

General Mechanics
  1. Each team should be composed of 2-3 members in each group.
  2. Multiple rooms will be set up, each containing a series of challenges related to various fields such as maths, science, arts, music, global perspective, motor skills, etc.
  3. Teams must solve all challenges stationed in different locations.
  4. The competition will be timed, and teams must complete all challenges within a specified time limit to be eligible for winning.
  5. Any form of cheating or unfair assistance will result in disqualification.
  6. The competition ends when a team successfully completes all rooms or the maximum time limit is reached.
  7. Teams will be ranked based on the time taken to complete all challenges.
Guidelines
Team members must have a combination of the following skills:

  1. Problem-Solving Skills
    • Ability to solve problems accurately and efficiently.
    • Creativity in approaching and solving physical and cognitive challenges.
  2. Teamwork and Collaboration
    • Effectiveness of communication and collaboration within the team.
    • Distribution of tasks and use of each team member's strengths.
  3. Time Management
    • Efficiency in completing each room within the time limit.
    • Strategic use of hints to minimise time penalties.
  4. Knowledge Application
    • Application of classroom knowledge to solve the riddles and puzzles.
    • Demonstration of understanding of concepts/topics from various fields.
  5. Adaptability and Resilience
    • Ability to adapt to new and unexpected challenges.
    • Perseverance in solving difficult problems without giving up.

The team with the most number of completed challenges in the shortest time wins

Business Simulation

In business simulation, students have the opportunity to create their own businesses. Various skills such as computing profit, loss, cost, revenue, and expenses along with enhancing analytical and critical thinking abilities are developed. The competition also enriches basic knowledge and principles of economics. In the simulation, students have to make decisions that will determine the success of their businesses.
Objectives
  1. Understand basic economic concepts and principles
  2. Promote the spirit of entrepreneurship
  3. Encourage collaboration and cooperation
Expected output: 7-minute business presentation with sample product

Participants
All participants are required to wear their school uniform. Students entering the competition will be divided into 2 divisions which will run simultaneously from 12:30 – 1:30
  • Middle school category: Grades 7 - 9
  • High school category: Grades 10 - 12

  • Although the simulation is about business, students do not have to be knowledgeable in the subject area to participate in the competition.

    General Mechanics
    1. Each team consists of 3 students in the same grade level category.
    2. Each team needs to create a name for their group
    3. Teams pitch their company, making strategic decisions about marketing, finance, and operations to outperform competitors, enhancing strategic thinking and business acumen.
    4. Each team will be given 15 minutes with the judges
    5.    &nbsp a.  &nbsp 7 minutes: Business presentation
         &nbsp b.  &nbsp 8 minutes: Q & A with the judges
    6. The team with the most innovative and feasible business idea wins.
    Guidelines

    Pitch: Presentation must include these key areas - business concept, target market, financial projections, and unique selling proposition.

    Feedback: After each pitch, judges provide feedback on the business idea, financials, and presentation. Students can then revise their pitches and business plans based on this feedback if necessary.

    Conclusion: Judges score each pitch based on predefined criteria such as innovation, market potential, financial viability, and presentation skills. Rankings can be used to determine winners or progression to subsequent rounds.
    1st place - Middle School category: Rp 1,000,000 / team
    1st place - High School category: Rp 1,000,000 / team

    Environmental Sustainability Challenges

    Objectives
    The Science Fair aims to:
    &nbsp 1. promote the interest in science and robotics in the community
    &nbsp 2. encourage the pursuit of science and robotic knowledge among students
    &nbsp 3. challenge the participants’ scientific and robotic mind and enrich their vision

    Participants
    Science Fair is open to all students from Grade 4-12. There are three categories:
    ● Upper Elementary Category: Grades 4 - 6
    ● Middle School Category: Grades 7 - 9
    ● High School Category: Grades 10 - 12

    General Mechanics
    1. Each team should be composed of 3 members in each group in the same grade level category.
    2. Each team will be assigned a specific environmental problem (e.g., water pollution, air pollution).
    3. Teams are required to conduct thorough research on their assigned environmental problem.
    4. They must propose a scientifically sound solution to the problem.
    5. The solution should involve a practical application that incorporates robotics or automation.

    Presentation
    On the day of the competition, each team will present their project to a panel of judges. The presentation should include:
    ● An overview of the problem
    ● Their research process
    ● The proposed solution and how it works
    ● A demonstration or simulation of the robotics application

    Each presentation should last between 7 - 10 minutes, followed by a 5-minute Q&A session with the judges.
